Jenny
Mike Burden meets Jenny - his daughter’s glamorous history teacher - at his sister-in-law’s wedding. Jenny is a paragon who plays violin with a string quartet, sings in the Myringham choir and takes classes in advanced German.
The couple set up home on Glenwood Road in Kingsmarkham, where, after a fraught pregnancy and many hours of Guided Confrontational Therapy, baby Mark is eventually added to the family.
Diane Keen:: “Jenny was written as being quite straight but she is slightly off the wall at times and even capable of being batty. I think that came from me. She is a light and easy person, very aware of the world around her. She teases her husband about being so straight and tries to lighten him up. He takes that quite well, as he has mellowed a bit now. She is also very strong minded, very good at seeing things from two different points of view but once she has made up her mind about an issue, she is difficult to shift.”
